Florentine Steak time!

Just Kidding – that stuff is wayyyyy too rare.

First meal in Florence was at Trattoria Pandemonio which was known for their Florentine Steak, but I ordered Chicken Marsala – so so good. One of the few places that had chicken on their menu of the places we went to in Italy. I thought it was really good – it was served with potatoes on the side which were delicious. For the table we also ordered a tiramisu – this was a life-changing work of art. I loved it so much – it was so light and fluffy and a huge portion. Sorry forgot to take a picture of my meal before I ate it because I was SO HUNGRY, but that tiramisu though…

The next day we ventured around Florence and walked quite a bit, but we made our way to Il due Fratelli for lunch. Again another very highly recommended touristy spot but if you go to Florence, I highly recommend – so filling, and so easy on the pocket. They do have a set menu but you can also tell them what you want in it. I went with spicy salami, mozzarella and rockets. Beware of the pigeons because there are many..

Dinner that night was at a place called Restaurante Cambi – it was recommended to us as a place with the best Florentine steak. Of course, I didn’t eat that, because redness, but I did have drumrollplease Eggplant Parmesan. And this was hands down the BEST eggplant parm I had in Italy, The eggplant wasn’t mushy, the sauce had so much flavor, and it wasn’t cheese overload.

Our second day in Florence was mostly spent in Pisa. Pizza in Pisa – yes, as cliche as that is, it happened and it was the best pizza I had in Italy. We each ordered our own pizza and we all pretty much finished the entire thing.

I ordered the standard – margarita with rockets – and the best part about this particular pizza was that the restaurant had red pepper flakes ❤ ❤

Our last meal in Florence was probably one of the best meals of the trip. We went to a place called ZaZas which was again a recommendation – and it did not disappoint. There was a lot of prosecco and lemoncello that night – but that all happened after food, so I think it’s safe to say the food really was delicious. I ordered Chicken Cacciatore and we ordered a plate of pesto pasta and fried artichokes as the appetizer. My friend ordered the house lasagne which was delicious as well, it could have done with more sauce, but maybe that’s the way they eat lasagne in Italy?
